Bedford Blues are delighted to announce another addition to the squad for the 2018/19 Championship campaign with the return of second row powerhouse Mark Flanagan from Saracens.

Flanagan, 28, had a hugely impressive 2015/16 season at Goldington Road helping the Blues reach the Championship play-offs before being snapped up by the Premiership giants.

The lock soon integrated himself within the squad and made several appearances in his first season at Allianz Park, but with game time hard to come by, he made a loan switch to Munster at the start of the 2017/18 season making six appearances for the province.

Bedford Blues Ltd will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) this Wednesday 23rd May 2018 in the Scrum Hall at Goldington Road (8pm start). The meeting is strictly Shareholders only, by invitation.

The formal documentation has been sent to shareholders who requested either email or postal copies previously.

If shareholders haven’t informed the club of their choice to receive communication via one of these forms they will not have access to this information. Shareholders who wish to continue receiving the AGM pack and invitation should email with their preference.

The Followers are running a trip to Cromer and Sheringham on Saturday 2nd June and welcome all supporters to join their summer trip!

The coach will leave Goldington Road at 8.30am calling first at Cromer for those who wish to get off there. The coach will leave Sheringham at 5pm picking up at Cromer at 5.15pm.

The trip is open to everyone - you do not need to be a Follower - so why not enjoy a day at the seaside!

Cost for adults is £25 per person, juniors under 18 are £13. Those travelling can choose which of the places they wish to go to.

The Bedford Blues Marquee was filled to the brim on Friday night (18th May) as the club celebrated a fantastic campaign with the End of Season Gala Dinner.

There was plenty of fantastic entertainment as Blues players, coaches and special guests alike, gathered to mark the end of yet another incredible season of Championship rugby as well as the 20-year reunion of the Allied Dunbar Premiership Two winning team.

The Followers will be carrying out a number of tasks every Saturday over the summer from the end of June, but this weekend from 9am on Saturday and Sunday, Baz Townsend will lead a clear up of the site.

All are welcome and if fans can spare any time your support is greatly appreciated. There are plenty of jobs to do, but very common themes include picking up rubbish, removing larger objects ahead of bigger ground works, painting and weeding so please bring any small tools you have that may be of help.

Bedford Blues are seeking a Strength and Conditioning Intern for the 2018/19 season to work under new department leader Jamie Bain. The role will give the successful applicant the opportunity to work within the professional sporting environment of a Greene King IPA Championship Club.

Purpose of the internship:

(i) To provide support to the Bedford Blues Strength and Conditioning program, particularly around strength and fitness implementation, data collection, analysis and evaluation.

Bedford Blues are delighted to announce the signing of Welsh centre Lewis Robling from Championship rivals Ealing Trailfinders for the 2018/19 season.
Robling, 26, had one season with the west London club making 15 appearances and scoring three tries but he'd previously spent three years with Jersey Reds where he made 60 appearances in the league and cup. Robling came through the ranks at the Dragons Academy and later played for the senior side, Newport, Cross Keys and Bedwas as well as picking up International Honours with Wales Under 20s.

Bedford Blues are delighted to announce that two more members of the front row club have put pen to paper on new deals to remain at Goldington Road.

Returning for another season in a Blues jersey to bolster the front row will be prop Alex Penny and hooker Jacob Fields.

Bedford Blues are delighted to announce that back rower Huw Worthington and winger Ryan Hutler have signed deals to remain at Goldington Road for the 2018/19 Championship season.

Worthington, 23, joined the Blues in December 2017 from Welsh side RGC 1404 to provide an extra option in the Blues back row having impressed for the Dragons in the Anglo-Welsh Cup last season.

The powerhouse from Penybontfwar, who attracted attention from a host of Championship clubs, has firmly established himself at the end of this season in a Blues jersey and has extended his stay for another campaign.
