Following a meeting of the organising committee, it has been confirmed today that Bedford Blues will face Ulster in the quarter-final of the British & Irish Cup with the game taking place at Goldington Road on the Easter weekend.

Also determined at the meeting was the draw for the semi-finals which - should Bedford progress from the game against Ulster - would see Bedford travel away from home to face the winner of the match between Ealing Trailfinders and Yorkshire Carnegie or Cornish Pirates* on the weekend of 20th/21st/22nd April.

Speaking about the draw, Blues Director of Rugby Mike Rayer said: "Given the toughness of the pool we were part of, I'm delighted to have come out as tabe-toppers to secure an important home draw in the quarter-final. Having the chance to compete for silverware is what every player wants and we are thrilled to still be in the mix.

"While it is always difficult to prepare for cup games against opposition you don't know very well, we have had the pleasure of facing Ulster a couple of times over the years and know they’ll be tough to get past. I'm sure that they’ll will be sending a very strong side over for the game in front of what I hope will be, a packed Goldington Road."

Tickets for the game against Ulster will be on sale very soon on the club website where you can also buy discounted tickets for all Bedford Blues home games.
