Bedford Blues are delighted to confirm two more players have put pen to paper on new deals to remain at Goldington Road for the 2018/19 Championship season.

Prop Camilo Parilli-Ocampo and flanker Justin Blanchet have both agreed new deals to extend their stays with the Blues.

Speaking about the re-signings, Blues Director of Rugby Mike Rayer said: "It's great to be able to secure the services of two such hard-working lads for the coming campaign. Cam and Justin give nothing but 100% every time they take to the field and they play with true fire and passion which is so important to our squad dynamic and I'm looking forward to seeing more of the same next season."
Camilo joined the Blues at the beginning of the 2014/15 season from fellow Championship side Ealing Trailfinders. The 28-year-old prop has benefitted from a spell in Leicester Tigers Academy and made his Tigers first-team debut during the 2010/11 Anglo-Welsh Cup ties against Ospreys and Bath. Standing at 6ft 2 and weighing in at 137kg Parilli-Ocampo was also part of Leicester’s Aviva Premiership Rugby ‘A’ League title winning side and was capped by England Students following his time with Loughborough Students in the national leagues. Camilo has made 24 appearnces for the Blues this season scoring three tries in the process.

Speaking about extending his stay at Goldington Road, Camilo said: "I am delighted to have re-signed for an upcoming fifth season. It has been a great four years so far and they just keep getting better. The culture from coaching staff, medical staff and crowd, is just amazing and incomparable, so it wasn't a tough decision. I'm now looking forward to my honeymoon with my new wife and then hitting pre-season, but first the squad wants to finish off the season on a high on Saturday by securing that third place spot. Come on you Blues!!!"

Blanchet, 24, who is French-Canadian, also joined the Blues in the summer of 2014 from Exeter Chiefs, where he played whilst studying Economics at University, making his debut for the Premiership side against London Welsh in the LV=Cup in 2012. Standing at 6ft 4 and tipping the scales at 16 stone, the Montreal native’s impressive displays of rugby saw him training with the England Under 20 squad, gaining him the reputation of a hard tackling back rower. Blanchet has continued to develop with the Blues and has made huge progression to his all-round game.

Commenting on re-signing Justin said: "It's great to have signed on for another season at Goldington Road and I'm really looking forward to getting stuck back into the action once I recover from injury. It's been a frustrating season with a few knocks but to have the support of the coaches, players and fans is wonderful and I'm looking forward to repaying everyone as we get set for the new season."

Camilo and Justin join new signings Oli Curry, Charlie Clare and Hayden King at Goldington Road for the 2018/19 campaign along with the re-signings of Dean Adamson, Rich Lane, Will Carrick-Smith, Harry Sheppard, Josh Buggea, Will Hooley, Ed Taylor and Michael Le Bourgeois. Lee Dickson, Alex Rae, Jarad Williams, Chris Czekaj, Sean McCarthy and Ben Cooper are already contracted for next season.
