Player Profile:

The journey from a Venezuelan livestock farm to professional rugby isn’t a well-travelled one, but it’s a path that Camilo Parilli-Ocampo has taken.

A quarter of a century ago Parilli-Ocampo was just a small boy growing up amongst the agriculture of Valera, western Venezuela, not well-known as a hotbed of young rugby talent. But fast-forward to today and that boy is now much, much bigger and an invaluable contributor to the Bedford Blues pack, having played at Goldington Road since the 2014/15 season.

Stopping off in Colombia along the way, Parilli-Ocampo benefitted from a spell in Leicester Tigers Academy and made his Tigers first-team debut during the 2010/11 Anglo-Welsh Cup ties against Ospreys and Bath.

Standing at 6ft 2 and weighing in at 131kg Parilli-Ocampo was also part of Leicester’s Aviva Premiership Rugby ‘A’ League title winning side and was capped by England Students following his time with Loughborough Students in the national leagues.
