Eastbourne College-educated, O'Conor was with Lewes, Hove and played for Heathfield & Waldron Colts in 2012/13 before moving on to Worthing Raiders and last year to Henley Hawks and Wasps. Add an appearance for Ireland U19 against Australia in Belfast in December 2013 and another for England Sevens in Bucharest in October 2013 and the international flavour goes on. Wasps signed him soon after his age group appearance for Ireland.
He first appeared for England U20 at full back against Wales at Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay in February this year and scored a stunning long-range try in the 19-14 win over Ireland at Donnybrook three weeks later.
Speaking about signing O'Conor, Director of Rugby Mike Rayer said: “Piers is a class act, who showed real ability against the Army in the Mobbs Memorial fixture – even at 13 when he is predominantly a 15. He has been away with the England under 20 squad and when the opportunity came up for us it was a no-brainer.”
