Bedford Blues are pleased to launch their annual Rugby and Beer Festival Weekender at the next home match v Jersey on Friday 9th February and the screening of Six Nations coverage on Saturday 10th February.

In collaboration with the Eagle Brewery and Marston’s this year’s two-day beer festival at Goldington Road is due to be bigger and better with our widest range of ales to date.

Whilst the match itself is a much-anticipated clash against Jersey Reds, a glass or two of the best ales in the country should make the top-class rugby even more enjoyable as the Blues hope to continue their fine form.

The two-day mini festival of the greatest sport and the best beers will include the following ales; Eagle IPA, Wainwright’s Golden Beer, Brakspear Bitter, Brakspear Oxford Gold, Hobgoblin, Hobgoblin Gold, Ringwood Old Thumper, Ringwood Razor Back, Wychwood Dirty Tackle, Young’s Bitter, Jennings Cumberland, Marston’s Saddle Tank, Marston’s Pedigree, Marston’s EPA, Marston’s 61 Deep, Greene King IPA, Black Sheep Best Bitter, Ram Tackle and a beer from Charles Wells’ Wandering Brewer Project.

The festival gets underway on Friday night in the Blues Marquee when Mike Rayer’s men face the Channel Islanders. Gates open at 5pm giving the Goldington Road faithful plenty of time to sample some of the best beers around before the game kicks off at 7.45pm. Entrance via the side of the marquee.

The following day it’ll be much of the same on the beer front, but this time the rugby entertainment will come courtesy of the big screen and plasma TVs as this year’s Six Nations Championship heats up with two big matches including England v Wales.

Doors will be opening at 2pm in time for Ireland’s fixture against Italy at 2.15pm. At 4.45pm it will be time for live coverage of England v Wales and a few reduced priced ales as the big match kicks off live from Twickenham.

What more could Blues fans want?

Entry to the Friday night beer festival is included in the price of your Bedford Blues v Jersey match day or season ticket, but there will be a small charge for a Bedford Blues beer glass.

Saturday will be free entry to all, you can even bring your own food in, we just ask you buy a glass and finish our beer at reduced prices.

Discounted tickets for the match day are available online here.
