PREVIOUS HEADLINE ACTS IN THE BEDFORD COMEDY NIGHT SERIES
Dan Evans - February 2024
(With Support Acts: Chris Norton-Walker & Kent Cameron)
For over a decade his twisted logic has been gladdening Stand Up Comedy audiences across the UK and Ireland, so Dan Evans was the perfect headline act to perform at our very first - and sold out! - Bedford Comedy Night earlier in 2024.
Dan arrived at Bedford Blues with critical acclaim, listing notorious comedy sets on TV and Radio including BBC 2's Brain Candy, Channel 5 at The Store, The Channel 5 Comedy Zone, the Radio 2 Stand Up Show and 28 acts in 28 minutes on Radio 4.
Michelle Shaughnessy - Friday 29th March
(With Support Acts: Dani Johns and Darren Mortiboy)

Fresh from a stint as support act on Ed Byrne's highly acclaimed 'Tragedy Plus Time' UK Tour, Michelle Shaughnessy was the perfect headliner on International Women's Month in-front of a captivated audience.
She went on to tour with the notorious Adam Hills after her solo performance in The Burrow.
Originally from Toronto, before heading across the pond to base herself in London, Michelle has had numerous appearances on television and her debut album “You Know What You Did” hit number one on the iTunes comedy charts. Her sophomore album “Botoxic” received a coveted 5 star review from Toronto’s NOW Magazine.
Alistair Barrie - Friday 26th April
(With Support Acts: Paul Ricketts & Ben Treloar)

Alistair Barrie is one of the top headliners on the international comedy circuit. A regular at London’s world-famous Comedy Store, he has performed in over 40 countries including Australia, Cape Town, Mumbai, New Zealand and the legendary Comedy Cellar in New York.
His 2013 and 2015 Edinburgh shows were nominated for ‘Best Show at The Fringe’ with the latter transferring to London for a run at The Soho Theatre, and he was runner-up in the 2015 English Comedian of the Year.
Roger Monkhouse - Friday 31st May
(With Support Acts: Charmian Hughes & Dave Wilder)
One of the most intellectual comics in the business, Roger Monkhouse oozes class with every syllable he utters, be it a wry observation or a witty one-liner, all delivered with a laconic, urbane Surrey posh accent, that has not been crushed by far too many years living in the north of the country.
A comedy club owner himself when he is not performing, Roger knows exactly what an audience wants and delivers it with a deadly combination of charm and as the equally cerebral critic put it: ''he packs in more observations on the human condition in a twenty minute set than a whole lecture on Jean-Paul Satre''.
Ashley Frieze - Friday 28th June
(With Support Acts: Mad Ron & Alexis Roy)

With his charming, daft, and warm brand of music-infused stand-up comedy, this guitar-toting funny man has been entertaining audiences across the UK for over 20 years. His original songs, with well-crafted lyrics and catchy tunes, span many genres from Jazz to Coldplay.
Ashley has something for most audiences. Intelligent, geeky, silly, and occasionally naughty; he's playful but never rude!
Paddy Lennox - Friday 26th July
(With Support Acts: Blank Peng & Edi Johnston)

Irish comedian and actor Paddy Lennox first burst on to stage as a stand-Up in 2001, only to be interrupted with a couple of comedies at the Shakespeare Globe Theatre and filming in far off lands, before returning to his new found passion. An engaging and instantly likeable comic, Paddy combines topical material with observational routines.
Steve Day - Friday 30th August
(With Support Acts: Ant Dewson & David Luck)
Steve Day describes himself as Britain's only deaf comedian; if there are any others he hasn't heard. Actually there are a couple of others who have started since he wrote that joke, but it's only a joke after all.
For the past eleven years, Steve has been performing to huge laughter around the country and abroad, well they tell him the laughter was huge to humour him, he doesn't know either way.
Andy White - Friday 27th September
(With Support Acts: Alex Hylton)
Andy is a loveable Brummie who managed to escape from a call centre to become a stand up comic. He combines silly voices and a mad afro to devastating comic effect.
Kevin Daniel - Friday 25th October
(With Support Acts: Aaron Twitchen & LJ Da Funk)
Kevin is an award winning comedian, who has established himself as one of the hottest up and coming acts on the UK comedy circuit. His commanding stage presence, relatable exquisite storytelling, and well–crafted jokes always leave audiences wanting more.
Matt Price - Friday 29th November
(With Support Acts: Kathryn Mather & Kie Carson)
Matt’s charm and talent have made him a favourite on the UK and International circuit and whether he is compering or performing a set, he has the expertise to win over even the toughest of audiences.
