Match Preview v Ealing Trailfinders
![]()
Bedford Blues have been forced into a late change for Friday night’s Championship clash with Ealing Trailfinders. Northampton Saints hooker Michael Van Vuuren comes into the Blues squad on loan and takes a place on the bench with Andrew Boye now providing tighthead prop cover in place of Karl Garside.
Friday Night Lights return to Goldington Road for the first time this season as Bedford Blues prepare to face Ealing Trailfinders in the Greene King IPA Championship.
Bedford head into Friday’s game off the back of a last minute defeat to Coventry at Butts Park Arena last weekend. The Blues - down to 13 men - were unable to hold out against the home team who made numbers count as they found a way over the line deep into stoppage time to take the spoils.
This will be the second clash of the season between the two teams with Ealing Trailfinders having won 26-57 in the opening round of the Championship Cup last month. Both sides have won one and lost one in the Championship so far with the Blues sitting fourth in the table and Ealing in eighth.
Bedford make four changes for Friday’s fixture with Ed Coulson coming into the back line for Matt Worley who picked up a knock against Coventry last weekend. In the forwards, Joe Wrafter starts at loosehead prop, Josh Buggea comes in at blindside flanker with Oli Curry moving into the second row, and Dan Temm captains the team from Number Eight.
