Match Preview v Ampthill

Posted: 24th December 2019

Bedford Blues have named their 23 man squad to take on near neighbours Ampthill in the Greene King IPA Championship clash on Boxing Day.

The first league meeting between the two teams sees Goldington Road being sold out as Bedfordshire rugby fans come together in what is sure to be an enthralling encounter.

With Ampthill having won both Championship Cup clashes between the two teams this season as well as the ‘friendly’ encounter that took place on Boxing Day last year, the Blues will be looking to make a statement when the Mob arrive on Thursday afternoon.

The Blues make three changes from the team that lost to Ampthill in the Cup earlier this month with Rich Lane and Dean Adamson both returning to the backs while Alafoti Faosiliva gets his first start in a Blues jersey from Number Eight and Alex Penny has recovered from long-term injury to take a place on the bench.
