Match Preview v Jersey Reds

Posted: 31st January 2020

Mike Rayer has named his squad as Bedford Blues return home to battle Jersey Reds at Goldington Road this Saturday (3pm).

The first meeting between the two sides this season, marking the halfway stage of the Championship season, sees Blues looking for back to back home wins for the first time this campaign, buoyed by the impressive start to 2020.

Director of Rugby, Rayer, has made four changes from last weekend, including handing a second start of the season to Sam Leeming. Elsewhere in the back division there is a slight shuffle with Rich Lane moving back into the 15 jersey as Pete Lydon is called back to Ealing Trailfinders this weekend to cover injuries.

In the forwards, Jordan Onojaife and Ed Taylor come back into the starting side to form the second row, with Oli Curry moving to blindside flanker. The final change sees Alafoti Fa’osiliva replace Dan Temm at number 8, whilst Lewis Robling makes a welcome return from injury with a place on the bench.
