Easter Holiday Rugby Camp

Following the success of the recent February Half-Term Rugby Camp, Blues Community are delighted to announce details for their next Rugby Camp in April.

Returning to Goldington Road, this three-day camp will run between Tuesday April 7th – Thursday 9th as Blues Community continue to showcase and deliver rugby coaching under ‘Play the Blues way’ principles.  Ages between 5 – 15 years old, with all levels of ability welcomed.

Prices have been frozen at £30 per day with a superb discounted offer of £70 if booked onto all three days.

There is a £10 discount available to any Bedford Junior Blues members, therefore costing you just £60, as this only applies to the three-day option and once using the unique code from the BJB age group coach.

Over 60 youngsters enjoyed last week’s camp at Bedford Athletic Rugby Club as Blues Community took the camp on the road; to the home of Junior Blues on Wentworth Drive.

During the camp, attendees were challenged through a variety of game scenarios and skill development challenges; including core skills, evasion tactics, strength and conditioning, nutritional advice and fun-packed games all under the close tutelage of experienced coaches and Blues players.

Every participant received coaching from some of the Blues stars as eight first team players, including Sam Leeming, Charlie Reed and Robbie Smith all attended to pass on their knowledge and expertise to the next generation of the #BluesFamily. 

Blues player and community coach, Charlie Reed said: “When I was growing up, I used to come to camps like these all the time. It was important to learn off the professional players to get their insight and now it’s a real honour to do the same at my local club. It’s nice to give back to the community.”

Fellow player and coach, Robbie Smith continued: “When I was a younger kid, I used to love coming to these camps and interacting with some of the players so it’s good to get down and give something back.

“Bedford Blues is a real community club; we hear the fans every Saturday so it’s nice to spur on some of the younger generation to hopefully one day get on the pitch with us.”
