Representative Rugby at Goldington Road this April

Bedford Blues are pleased to be hosting representative rugby at Goldington Road this April as England Counties U18s play two tests against Ireland Clubs & Schools.

Ground entry to both matches in Bedford are FREE, with the first test taking place on Tuesday 14 April (KO 2pm), followed by the second contest four days later on Saturday 18 April (KO 12pm).

Goldington Road has seen two sold out international clashes in the past year, when England U20s defeated their Italian counterparts in the 2019 Six Nations Championship, plus England Women taking the spoils against the Azzurri in the Quilter International just three months ago.  

On the back of this and with the growth of the Blues Community programme, the Club has been very keen to support the international development in age grade rugby with the RFU.

Bedford Blues Chief Operating Officer, Gareth Alred said: “We are looking forward to hosting the England Counties age grade programme over the Easter period in partnership with Moulton College.

“We are committed to supporting the development of rugby players in both the local region and on the national stage. Bedford Blues is a real rugby club and hopefully supporters are able to pop down, and enjoy what should be, two enjoyable junior test matches.”

England Counties U18 Team Manager, David Penberthy said: “Bedford has a lot of character. We are looking forward to playing at Goldington Road, and we’re hoping for a big crowd at both games as they are being played through the Easter holidays.”
