RFU Postponement of Rugby: COVID-19
Posted: 17th March 2020
Following a statement from the RFU all rugby activity, including the Greene King IPA Championship, will be suspended from the 17th March until 14th April subject to continued review due to the impact of coronavirus.
The decision has been taken following government advice in the interests of players, coaches, referees, volunteers, supporters and the wider rugby union community. This suspension is effective to all rugby activity in the professional, community and grassroots game.
The announcement means that Bedford Blues’ home games against both Nottingham and London Scottish have been postponed, along with the trips to Ampthill and Hartpury.
All Bedford Blues’ Season Tickets, hospitality packages and tickets purchased will remain valid for rescheduled games. The club will be in contact with all ticket purchases in due course once information is released regarding the status of these postponed matches.
Supporters’ patience is appreciated whilst we work with the RFU and all clubs on this unprecedented situation. This is already a very challenging time for Championship rugby, we appreciate the understanding of those connected to the club.
At the very heart of Bedford Blues is the concept of family and unity, we urge all supporters to put the well-being of themselves and those around them first.
