Fans' Team of the Decade: 1990-2000

We asked the Blues Family to vote for their ‘Team of the Decade: 1990 – 2000’ on Twitter and the results are in!

Over 3,000 votes were cast across a series of polls to decide who would make it into the side.

The team features multiple Blues legends of years gone by including England’s top try scorer Rory Underwood; Blues’ second most capped player Mark Howe (478 appearances) and the club’s second highest points scorer Andy Finnie (2,616 points) making the bench.

Current Director of Rugby, Mike Rayer has been appointed captain of the team having won his poll by the largest majority, with a recognisable vice-captain in outside-half Paul Turner, now Head Coach of Ampthill.

Rayer is one of 13 members included from the star-studded 1997/98 side which secured promotion to the Premiership, while five players make it into the side who featured in the 1994/95 Courage League Three title triumph.
