Match Focus: Blues battle Reds
Bedford Blues return to Goldington Road in Championship action this Saturday 28th March against Jersey Reds (KO 1pm; Live Stream begins at 12:40pm).

Big Game Preview
Mike Rayer will be looking for a response from his troops after last weekend’s defeat at high-flyers Cornish Pirates, but will likely still be without several key players due to injury. Team news at 12pm on Friday as Blues look for back-to-back home victories in Round Four of the GKIPA Championship.
Jersey Reds, meanwhile, will be searching for their first victory of the campaign when they make the trip over to Bedford from the Channel Islands. Coronavirus restrictions have made things difficult for Harvey Biljon’s side, who are away for their first five fixtures and travel to and from mainland on the same day. Following defeats to Saracens and Richmond, they will be eager to register their first win.
A relatively new league fixture with the first contest between the two sides taking place in September 2012, Jersey currently hold the better head-to-head record with eight wins to Bedford’s seven. Blues will be looking to draw level on Saturday while taking confidence from last season’s thrilling 27-25 victory at Goldington Road, thanks to Huw Worthington’s dramatic late try. The Islanders squad contains three former Blues players in TJ Harris, George Edgson and Ryan Hutler who we look forward to welcoming back.
