Episode 4 of the Championship Clubs Podcast
Episode Four of the Championship Clubs Podcast is out now!
This week’s episode again has a very distinct Bedford Blues feel with another two players to have formerly worn the #BluesFamily jersey; centre turned hooker, Tom Youngs and fellow hooker George Edgson.
Between them the duo made over a combined 50 appearances at Bedford Blues; Youngs made 24 appearances and scored five tries between 2006-08 and Edgson made 28 appearances with six tries between 2016-18.
Away from Bedford, Youngs has amassed over 200 appearances for Leicester Tigers but before he became a star at Welford Road, he was honing his craft in the Championship. The 34-year-old talks about how he first tasted regular first team rugby as a centre at Goldington Road before switching to hooker and learning the dark arts of the front-row on loan at Nottingham.
The shows second guest is the ever enigmatic Edgson. At 25-year-old George has experience beyond his years and speaks with insight and clarity on his time in the Championship which has seen him feature for Rotherham Titans, Bedford Blues, Ealing Trailfinders and Jersey Reds.
As a Hartpury College graduate that went on to be part of the Wasps Academy, George has rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest stars of the English game and speaks candidly about his experiences and expectations of the division.
