Mike Rayer has named his side as Bedford Blues go in search of their second Championship victory of the 2021 season against Richmond this Saturday (KO 4:15pm).

A historic fixture dating back nearly 90 years, both sides will be looking to reclaim bragging rights with the pair locked at 35 wins apiece, and one draw, from 71 previous meetings.

Rayer has shuffled his pack for the contest at Goldington Road, making four changes in the forwards, including the immediate introduction of hooker Reece Marshall, who joins on a short-term loan from Northampton Saints.

Marshall’s inclusion is one of two changes to the front row as Ed Prowse returns at tighthead. The remaining alterations upfront see Oli Curry and Oli Robinson restored to the starting side.

In the backs, there are a further three changes as Will Maisey returns to partner Connor Tupai in the half-back positions. Tom Litchfield replaces Reuben Bird-Tulloch at inside centre, while Josh Gillespie comes in on the right wing.

Amongst the replacements, Andre Robson is set for his competitive debut having been named in the matchday squad for the first time since signing in January.
