Blues Community | Summer Holiday Activators Required

Blues Community are looking to recruit Summer Holiday Activators to play a key role in supporting our summer delivery programme across Bedfordshire.

Successful applicants will join our existing Blues Community coaches in implementing a full holiday programme, delivering multi-sport activities across Bedfordshire and Central Bedfordshire. 

A standard working week will total around 32-35 hours and is expected to run Monday-Thursday from 8:30am-4:30pm. 

These roles are perfect for students at school or university who are looking to develop their skillset within sports coaching, and may have this time free to continue their development.

Roles and Responsibilities

  •          To work with and alongside Blues Community coaches.
  •          Look after and keep children safe during activities.
  •          Assist the lead coach in setting up and ensuring the courses are set out correctly.
  •          Create fun and engaging lunchtime activities along with games throughout the day.
  •          Supervise children over lunchtime and breaks.
  •          Design and implement mini games into sessions.
  •          Understand our safeguarding policies and the correct communication procedure.
  •         Undertake a professional approach to the planning, preparation and execution of coaching and training sessions.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  •          Experience working with large groups in a sporting environment
  •          NGB Coaching Qualifications
  •          Valid UK driving licence
  •          Valid safeguarding certificate
  •          First Aid qualified
  •          ERCA or Level 2 Coaching in Rugby Union 

Blues Community will provide free training to all successful candidates ahead of carrying out the 2021 holiday provision. As part of the training for this role you will receive:

  •          DBS Check
  •          Safeguarding training
  •          Support with coaching ideas

Hourly rate / salary will be competitive and based on experience.  

Anyone interested in joining the Blues Community coaching staff for the 2021 summer holiday period will be asked to attend a training day to become accustomed to our safeguarding policies and correct communication procedures. 

This will take place at Goldington Road on Wednesday 9th June from 17:30-19:00.
