Big Game Preview
Mike Rayer will be looking for a response following the late defeat at Nottingham last weekend, while trying to end the campaign on the best possible footing and reclaim local bragging rights.
Following the loss at Lady Bay, Bedford can’t finish any higher than the 8th position they currently occupy, but know there’s a chasing pack waiting to pounce on any final day slip-ups.
Ampthill, meanwhile, have a strong record on visiting Blues’ territory and will be looking to continue that imperious form as a win guarantees The Mob a top-six finish.
Mark Lavery’s team roll into Goldington Road with a victory over basement boys Richmond last time out, as part of three victories in their last five, but that will count for nothing on derby day!
Supporters return to Goldington Road
Spectators are back at the home of the Blues this Saturday for the first time since Bedford defeated Doncaster on Saturday 29th February 2020.
And while matchday may look a bit different this time around, we still want our #BluesFamily to enjoy the full experience as much as possible. We encourage all supporters to arrive as early as possible as it may take longer than usual to get into the ground.
There will be two hot food kiosks open on match day; the first – The Bedford Barn – located adjacent to the Blues Marquee on the halfway line and the other – Peckish Festival Food – served from a hatch at The Burrow at The Blues on the East Terrace.
The only places to sit down and have a beer before the game will be in the Scrum Bar or the GSI Tent. Tickets can be upgraded for £10 per table in the GSI Tent for sittings 12-2, please email hollie@bedfordrugby.co.uk to book or simply arrive on the day and take your chances!
No alcohol can be consumed in view of the pitch and whilst standing. Drinks are only available via table service whilst seated.
Social distancing guidelines apply. Please follow directional floor markings and ask the nearest available steward if you have any queries. Post-match please follow steward guidance and one-way systems for a safe exit from Goldington Road.
Face masks must be worn throughout your visit, unless of a medical exemption or while consuming refreshment. A full code of conduct will be released in the build-up to the game.
