Hooker Will Biggs arrives at Bedford Blues

Bedford Blues are pleased to announce that young hooker Will Biggs has joined the club from Birmingham Moseley for the 2021/22 campaign.
The 24-year-old, now sponsored by Clydesdale, featured 16 times for the Midlands club during the 2019/20 National One season before COVID cut the campaign short and will now test himself in England’s second tier.
On joining, Biggs said: “I am very excited to be joining Bedford Blues. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the club and I can’t wait for the season to begin.”
Featuring for Hartpury in the AASE set-up, Biggs remained at the University to compete for the highly successful BUCS league team while completing a degree in Sports Business Management.
Following the completion of a Masters’ Degree in Marketing, Biggs joined Moseley for a stellar debut campaign in senior rugby. With no third tier rugby throughout COVID, Biggs will be determined to kick on during pre-season.
Away from rugby, Biggs has put his qualifications into good use by becoming the founder and Managing Director of MatchDayInfo, the online match day programme portal used by Bedford Blues last season. It has since been re-branded to become Zeoon ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
Discussing the latest arrival, Head Coach, Alex Rae added: “Will really caught my eye – really solid set-piece and dynamism around the field which really impressed me straightaway.
“He’s been at Hartpury, then Moseley, so the logical next step was always going to be Championship rugby and you can see that he’s really relishing the opportunity.
“He’s an ambitious guy who really wants to kick on. It’s a big step up for him, but we could see that he’ll fit into our environment and culture.”
Further announcements to follow soon.
