Blues Community | Coaching Vacancies

Bedford Blues Community are looking for two highly motivated individuals to help support the next stage of development and growth within the department across Bedfordshire and the Milton Keynes area.

Ahead of the new school year, Blues Community are looking to recruit a Community Rugby Coach (Part Time) and a Rugby Development Officer (Full Time). Both roles will support Head of Community, Adam King in delivering first-class rugby coaching and will be based at the club’s Goldington Road offices.

Rugby Development Officer

The role of Rugby Development Officer will focus on creating partnerships and sustaining good relationships with clubs, schools and organisations across Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes. The position is suited to someone with a passion for coaching and the growth of local rugby.

Main Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Head of Community to continue developing school and club provision in the local area.
  • Deliver high quality rugby sessions for Bedford Blues Community, focusing on the current community programmes within schools and clubs.
  • Identify and develop further areas of improvement, including new projects.
  • Support all home match days, focusing on the creation of a thriving community provision – to include pre-match coaching clinics, Guard of Honour, activities and external opportunities where required.
  • Take a lead role on Bedford Blues Community camps, providing high quality coaching and provision.
  • Establish key links with community rugby clubs and assist in their development where required.
  • Work with Bedford Junior Blues to support coach and player development, whilst harnessing the relationship.
  • Develop Bedford Blues Community casual coaches and ensure quality in all delivery.
  • Undertake CPD opportunities and identify other key areas of development for personal growth.
  • Maintain a professional approach, ensuring that Bedford Blues is promoted positively at all times.
  • Have a sound understanding of all policies in place, to include safeguarding and reporting procedures.

Community Rugby Coach

The role will focus on delivering high quality coaching sessions in schools, clubs and organisations to leave a lasting impact on the local community. The role is suited to someone with a passion for coaching and working in a school environment. They will support the Community team by continuing the delivery of all programmes.

Main Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Head of Community and Rugby Development Officer to continue developing school and club provision in the local area.
  • Promote Bedford Blues at local events and organised activities.
  • Deliver high quality rugby sessions for Bedford Blues Community, focusing on the current community programmes within schools and organisations.
  • Take a leading role in the delivery of all before and after school clubs.
  • Organise for taster sessions to take place in local schools and support school events.
  • Support all home match days, focusing on the creation of a thriving match day provision – to include pre-match coaching clinics, Guard of Honour, activities and external opportunities where required.
  • Work with the Rugby Development Officer in providing high quality coaching and provision at all rugby camps.
  • Establish key links with further community rugby clubs and assist in their development where required.
  • Visit local rugby clubs to showcase the work Bedford Blues Community deliver in the local area.
  • Undertake CPD opportunities and identify other key areas of development for personal growth.
  • Always maintain a professional approach to the role, ensuring the brand is promoted positively at all times.
  • Have a sound understanding of all policies in place, to include safeguarding and reporting procedures.
