Bedford Blues are delighted to announce the return of homegrown winger, Dean Adamson, back to Goldington Road ahead of the 2021/22 Championship season.
The 28-year-old, sponsored by Lousada Plc, returns to Bedford following a year away at French Pro D2 side Rouen, where he scored five tries from 11 appearances for Richard Hill’s side.
Speaking about coming home, Adamson said: “I’m delighted to have re-signed at Bedford Blues. It was an interesting experience in France last year, I was able to develop not just as a player, but a person as well.
“There was only one club I could return to when heading back to England, and it feels great to be part of the #BluesFamily again. I always had a special relationship with our supporters and I’m excited to see everyone again.
“Hopefully I can pick up where I left off last time. There’s a few boys still around from my last spell and I’m looking forward to an exciting Championship campaign.”
Before heading over the channel, Adamson had forged himself as one of the Championship’s most prolific marksmen, scoring 82 tries from 116 appearances since signing a professional contract at Goldington Road in 2014.
A former member of the Blues Academy, Adamson has previously been named in The Rugby Paper’s ‘Championship Dream Team’ in 2017/18 when his 22 tries helped Blues finish third in the table and reach the Semi-Finals of the British & Irish Cup.
Director of Rugby, Mike Rayer said: “The prodigal son is back! Dean’s abilities are clear to everybody who has been around Goldington Road in the last six/seven years. He’s a proven finisher with a great skill set and real character off the field. He’s been bouncing around in training and it’s like he’s never been away.”
