Nos Hangs Up His Apron

Bedford Blues would like to place on record its thanks to Neil ‘Nos’ Thomas who has retired from the Scrum Bar Kitchen after more than 25 years at the coalface of the infamous Nos’s Nosh at Goldington Road.
A true club stalwart serving the #BluesFamily and players since the mid-1990s, Nos has been one of the most recognised figures on match day at Bedford’s premier sporting club.
Nos has cooked countless meals on training nights and match days for thousands of players as well as generously supporting the club throughout. His award-winning players’ cheeseboard was of acclaim up and down the country, as was his Chicken Marengo to all Blues’ troops. He will certainly be missed!
The Scrum Bar Kitchen and Serving Hatch won’t be disappearing, however, as we are pleased to announce that Taylor’s Kitchen will take over for the upcoming Championship season. Sadly, due to refurbishment works taking place, this will not be open for our two pre-season fixtures.
Fronted by Jason Taylor, the grand re-opening will take place at our first home league game of the campaign, against Doncaster Knights under the Friday Night Lights on 1st October. For the upcoming season food will be served through the hatch ONLY.
Chief Operating Officer, Gareth Alred said: “Firstly, we would all like to thank Nos for his incredible dedication and service to the club for the last 25 years. A larger-than-life character, Nos brought a smile to everyone at Goldington Road and will be missed by staff, players and supporters alike.
“His hard work, not just on match days, but for functions and training nights has always been appreciated. In classic Blues tradition, the whole family worked in the kitchen at some point. Hopefully we can welcome Nos and Louise back this coming season to watch the boys in action in a more relaxed setting.
“We also look forward to our partnership with Taylor’s Kitchen who earlier this year stepped in to provide grab and go meals for the players at training and on match day in line with the regulations.”
