Mike Rayer has named a 26-man squad ahead of Bedford Blues’ third pre-season fixture of the summer against Ampthill at Goldington Road this Saturday (KO 3pm).

Blues will be looking to continue building momentum ahead of the upcoming Championship season, which begins in just two weeks’ time away at Jersey Reds, and have also announced a home fixture with Saracens Storm next weekend to conclude pre-season.

The two sides shared a 12-try thriller at Dillingham Park just two weeks ago and Blues will be determined to reclaim local bragging rights against good friends and neighbours this weekend.

In terms of the Starting XV, there are 9 changes in total compared to the Northampton Saints fixture last time out as Rayer continues to rotate his squad and get vital match minutes into the legs of the entirety of the squad at his disposal. 

Saints trio Jake Garside, Oisin Heffernan and familiar face Emmanuel Iyogun, who all featured against Bedford last weekend, have joined the club on short-term loan deals and all start this Saturday.
