Following victory against close neighbours Ampthill last weekend, Mike Rayer’s side will be looking to continue their upwards momentum ahead of beginning their 2021/22 Championship campaign at Jersey Reds next weekend.
Rayer has rotated his squad throughout pre-season to get much needed minutes into the legs of the entirety of the squad at his disposal and that continues tomorrow with five changes to the Starting XV compared to the Battle of Bedfordshire.
There are three changes to the backline as scrum-half Alex Day returns having missed out last weekend, with Matt Worley and Will Maisey also coming back in. In the forwards pack, Luke Frost moves back to his familiar position of second row in place of Jordan Onojaife while Joe Atkinson replaces Bailey Ransom at openside.
Among the replacements, there is a welcome return for second row Robin Williams who is in line for his first Blues appearance having recovered from a dislocated elbow. Onojaife and Jamie Elliott miss out as a precautionary measure while Jacob Fields continues his recovery from a leg injury.
Bedford Blues Starting XV:
15. Rich Lane (C), 14. Matt Worley, 13. Ethan Grayson, 12. Frank Kelly, 11. Dean Adamson, 10. Will Maisey, 9. Alex Day; 1. Emmanuel Iyogun, 2. Will Biggs, 3. Oisin Heffernan, 4. Luke Frost, 5. Alex Woolford, 6. Tui Uru, 7. Joe Atkinson, 8. Oli Stedman
