Blues connection on new episode of Champ Clubs Pod
Episode 4, of Season 2, of the Championship Clubs Podcast is out now!
This week’s episode again has a very distinct Bedford Blues with both guests having a strong connection to the club; namely the Championship's current highest points scorer and our influential fly-half, Will Maisey alongside our former captain in the 1990s, Paul Turner.
Currently Head Coach at Bedfordshire neighbours Ampthill, Turner was Bedford's first captain of the professional era and made 46 appearances across two seasons (1996-98) scoring 37 points. He also spent some time in the coaching team at Goldington Road, most notably as Director of Coaching of the 'Dream Team'.
Maisey, on the other hand, is only really getting started in his Bedford career having made 16 appearances, kicking 119 points. The Championship's leading marksman this season, three clear before today's set of fixtures, Maisey has been instrumental in guiding Bedford into the top four in this early stage of the season.
He has a bundle of Championship experience as he approaches 1,000 points in the division having also featured for Nottingham and Coventry in the second tier.
