CLUB STATEMENT | Boxing Day Tickets & Access
Bedford Blues would like to issue the following information to all supporters in regard to the highly anticipated Boxing Day clash against Jersey Reds.
The club is in constant communication with Bedford Borough Council and the Safety Advisory Group as well as taking guidance from government and the RFU to make sure we produce a safe and enjoyable match day.
From a ticketing perspective, Goldington Road will have a reduced capacity of circa 4,500 to aid crowd movement and the flow of spectators. Ticket sales are currently already over 4,000 with only 300 tickets left on sale. The advice is to buy now before we sell out by purchasing here. No tickets will be made available on the gate on the day under any circumstance.
There are additional measures in place for entry in line with the government’s Plan B protocols. All attending supporters will be required to show proof of their NHS COVID Vaccine Passport or a negative lateral flow test undertaken on the morning of the match. COVID Stewards wearing pink tabards will be placed in front of all turnstiles on Boxing Day to check all vaccine passports or LFT photos (date of photo required) on smart phone devices before you reach the entry point. This should ease the situation of just showing your match tickets at the turnstiles.
The Club advise all spectators to act responsibly and carry out an LFT on the morning of the match for good practice and to ensure everyone’s safety. Please also arrive earlier than normal to ease queuing and congestion around the ground.
At present, it is not mandatory to wear a face covering inside the ground, however while it is not an enforceable requirement, we urge supporters to consider wearing a face covering in busy areas around the ground to protect the wider #BluesFamily.
A plentiful supply of hand sanitiser will also be available at all entrance and exit points, plus in our hospitality venues, with further measures also in place around Goldington Road, including cashless bars. Please refer to any steward if you have any issues or concerns on the day.
To ensure as many supporters as possible have access to the highly anticipated clash, the club is currently finalising details to live stream the fixture via our TicketCo platform, just like the truncated 2021 Championship season. A further statement will be made in due course confirming all live streaming details.
