TEAM NEWS | Three changes for Boxing Day

Mike Rayer has named his squad as Bedford Blues look to sign off 2021 in the perfect fashion when they host Jersey Reds in-front of a sell-out Goldington Road on Boxing Day (KO 3pm; Live Stream begins 2:55pm).

Following a bye weekend last time out, Blues begin the second half of their Championship season looking for their third successive home victory following wins over Nottingham and London Scottish in the past month.

Looking to replicate scenes of the 2016 Boxing Day victory over Harvey Biljon’s side, Rayer makes three changes to the Starting XV including a return to the engine room for Jordan Onojaife who replaces the injured Alex Woolford.

In the backs division there are a further two changes as Alex Day is selected to start at scrum half while Ethan Grayson is handed the jersey at inside centre.

Among the replacements, there is a welcome return for Jacob Fields who is yet to feature this season, while Karl Garside is also named in the Matchday 23 following his return on loan from Northampton Saints.
