MATCH FOCUS | First away trip of the New Year to Richmond
Bedford Blues will be looking to return to winning ways when they head to Richmond on Saturday as both sides look to make a late charge towards the Championship’s top four (KO 3pm).

Big Game Preview
Mike Rayer’s charges will head to the Richmond Athletic Ground looking for a response following a disappointing defeat in the Battle of Bedfordshire last weekend which dropped them to sixth in the table. Victory in the capital would see Blues looking up the table again with just six points separating third from seventh.
Steve Hill’s Richmond side head into Saturday’s contest fresh off their own derby victory against London Scottish, their fourth success of the campaign and first victory in six attempts. They currently sit in ninth position and will be looking to rise between now and the end of the campaign.
Richmond’s victory at Goldington Road earlier this season ensures the series is level heading into Saturday’s game, with 36 wins apiece and a draw since a first meeting on Halloween 1931. Both teams will be looking to hit the front again on matchday.
COVID Protocols
Richmond have announced a full set of COVID-19 safety procedures which will be in place at the RAG on Saturday afternoon. This includes the recommendation of all supporters partaking in a Lateral Flow Test before arrival, alongside readily available hand sanitiser and face mask requirements for indoor areas.
