Blues Quintet depart Goldington Road

Bedford Blues can today confirm a quintet of departures following the conclusion of the 2021/22 Championship campaign.
Forwards Josh Pieterse, Will Biggs, Oli Stedman and Bailey Ransom all joined the Club last summer, while wing Andre Robson arrived in January 2021.
We thank them all for their time at Goldington Road and wish them the very best with their future endeavours.
A hamstring injury sustained on the opening day of the league season in Jersey disrupted Biggs’ spell at the Blues, where he was restricted to five appearances, but featured well in the Championship Cup in recent weeks.
Fellow front row forward Pieterse also spent time on the sidelines, but still ran out 10 times in club colours, scoring two tries.
Back row forwards Ransom and Stedman combine for 40 appearances in only one season, with Stedman also chipping in with five tries from his 21 games - including in the recent thriller with Cornish Pirates at Goldington Road.
Robson made nine impressive appearances in what has been his first experience of senior rugby having arrived after a long-term injury from Yorkshire Academy.
Director of Rugby, Mike Rayer, said: “It’s always a sad time of the year when players leave the Club. These boys have given everything for the club this season and we send them all our best wishes. Hopefully our paths cross again in the future.”
We would like to thank their respective player sponsors; Document Logistix, Trust Insurance, Mark A Howe and Papillon Coffee House for their support during the 21/22 league and cup campaign.
