Record Ladies Day Donation to Macmillan

Bedford Blues are delighted to have raised another record donation to Macmillan Cancer Support of £16,000 following our Ladies Day festivities against Cornish Pirates earlier this month.

A thriller on the pitch was matched by a cracking afternoon off it, raising money for a very deserved and worthwhile cause, close to the club’s heart.

Supporters raised the staggering amount via raffles, auctions and collections at the Club’s 13th Ladies Day event.

A selection of match worn jerseys were also up for grabs in the familiar post-match auction, overseen by Blues favourite MC, Sam Roberts. Unsurprisingly, the most popular shirt was that of hundred try scorer and local lad, Dean Adamson.

Macmillan volunteers and Blues supporters managed to make Goldington Road a sea of pink and green for the day and raise the biggest amount of funds to date!

Blues’ Chief Operating Officer, Gareth Alred said: “The generosity of the #BluesFamily never ceases to amaze and we’re incredibly humbled to be able to give Macmillan another record donation this year.

“Ladies Day was one of those dates in the calendar that we missed most throughout the pandemic. It’s always a special occasion at Goldington Road and it was fantastic to see the influx of people heading through the turnstiles to mark the occasion with only 10 days notice of the fixture.

“Thank you to all those who again showed their support for a charity close to so many people’s lives. We look forward to seeing everyone back next season.”
