Steve Monico Funeral Arrangements
After the extremely sad passing of the Club’s Finance Manager and highly respected local accountant, Steve Monico’s funeral service will be at Bedford Crematorium (1:45pm) this Wednesday 1st June, followed by his Celebration of Life at the Blues Marquee, Goldington Road (2:30pm).
Following a short battle with cancer, Steve passed away on Friday 6th May. One of the most recognisable accountants in Bedford, Steve spent more than two decades as a partner at Mazars, before setting up his own firm in the town back in 2009.
He was a key figure in supporting the club as we navigated our way through the COVID-19 pandemic, assisting greatly in securing the vital Sport England loan and other government available schemes.
Steve and his family were avid supporters of Bedford Blues over the years, always attending home matches and sponsoring the club in recent years.
As a mark of respect, the club’s flag has flown at half-mast since the last Championship Cup fixture, which also saw the #BluesFamily join together in a minute’s silence in Steve’s memory.
The thoughts of everyone associated with Bedford Blues are with his friends, family and colleagues at this very sad time.
