Bedford Blues are pleased to announce the full acquisition of The Burrow at the Blues from next month as the club plan an exciting future for our newest venue at Goldington Road.
Five permanent TV screens will be installed to make the bar more of a live sports destination on non-matchdays with all the stellar sporting events now on show from our town centre location.
As well as being the perfect place to watch the Blues squad training on Thursday nights, The Burrow at the Blues will now show selected Premiership and International rugby, Premier League football, Formula One, Cricket, Golf, Tennis and much more! Schedules will be posted on social media before each weekend, but can be altered to suit demand.
The venue will also host event nights every Thursday ranging from monthly comedy shows, quiz nights, bingo and private hires.
The Burrow at the Blues will be closed for the next few weeks before re-opening on Thursday 14th July. Initially, opening hours will be 5-10pm (Thursday & Friday), 12-10pm (Saturday), 12-5pm (Sunday).
An exciting new drinks menu will be available as well as a new food menu offering light bites, gourmet burgers and pub grub options throughout the summer.
The matchday offering from The Burrow at the Blues will remain unaffected throughout the 2022/23 campaign.
Blues Chief Operating Officer, Gareth Alred said: “The Burrow at the Blues has become an extremely popular venue, especially on matchdays, but we’re excited about the opportunity outside of match day as a sports bar and event destination.
“We want to make The Burrow at the Blues to place to watch live sport in Bedford and hope the #BluesFamily supporters can get behind this latest initiative.
“I must put on record our thanks to Matt and Alex from Burrow Venues for their help and support over the past 18 months, the venue is first class and they have been a pleasure to work with.
“This is an exciting time for the club on and off the field, I’m looking forward to seeing the re-opening of the venue in a couple of weeks’ time and hopefully the investment enabling more people to enjoy the Blues year round.”
Alex Bosman from Burrow Venues said: “After a successful period working in partnership with the Blues, the time has come for the teams at Burrow Venues and Peckish Festival Food to return to our day jobs providing food and drinks units at events.
“We are delighted the club see the value of the venue we jointly created and hand over the keys to the Blues team for its next chapter.
“We really appreciate all the support our customers have shown us at the club during these strange times and will hopefully see you all soon at local events over the summer or back at ‘The Burrow’ on the other side of the bar.”
