VACANCIES | Blues Women Head Coach & Team Manager roles

Bedford Blues Women are looking to fulfil the vacant Head Coach and Team Manager positions ahead of preparing for life in a new division following promotion last season.
The club desire to appoint individuals who will embrace our ‘Play the Blues Way’ principles and spearhead the team into its new chapter, with the ultimate ambition of competing near the top of the NC2 Midlands (Central) Division campaign in 2022/23.
Training sessions take place on Tuesday and Thursday nights (7:15-9pm) while league and cup fixtures are on Sundays spread across the season. Click here for the full fixture list.
Head Coach (paid role)
The ideal candidate will take an active lead in developing the senior’s Women’s coaching team while designing and implementing all training sessions created around skill development.
Reporting to the Head of Women and Girls Rugby, the Head Coach will be tasked with taking an active lead on future player recruitment, while developing all player and team training plans.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experienced coach with the ability to lead sessions and inspire players.
- Minimum of RFU Level 2 qualification with the desire and the ability to progress beyond.
- Ability to develop individual, inter-positional and unit skills.
- Ability to analyse technical and tactical aspects of games.
- A knowledge and experience of the varied factors required to develop sporting performance.
- Creative and innovative thinker with strong communication skills.
- Experience of having worked with women’s teams is desirable, but not essential.
Pay is based upon application and experience.
Team Manager (voluntary role)
The ideal candidate will assist the Head Coach in relation to all administration and logistics, demonstrating organisational and clear communication skills for all training sessions and fixtures.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Provide clear and concise club information to all players and staff.
- Take an active lead in team management meetings.
- Organise logistics for all travel to and from matchdays.
- Responsible for all activity concerning the RFU GMS Competition Management System – uploading team lists before games, uploading scores post-match as well as all points scorers.
- Monitor player availability for all events.
- Prepare the changing room before games and ensure it is left in a clean post game.
Collection and storage of team kit between matches, ensuring this is cleaned and ready.
