MATCH FOCUS | Ladies Day returns for historic Caldy clash
![]()
It’s time to dress Goldington Road pink this Saturday as Ladies Day festivities return when Bedford Blues and Caldy face each off for the very first time (KO 3pm).
A special 50% off Ground Entry ticket is available to all ladies for Saturday’s game when purchased online only; while the usual £4 online discount remains for all other adults. Buy tickets here.
Big Game Preview
After a thrilling victory and several impressive performances down at Cornish Pirates last weekend, Bedford Blues will be aiming to make it three consecutive Championship victories, something they haven’t achieved since December 2018.
Caldy have made a strong start to life in the second tier following promotion last term, being highly competitive in every game, and securing a bonus point victory at Richmond in Round 2 before a last gasp defeat at home to Nottingham last time out.
Macmillan Cancer Support Ladies Day activities
Blues will be turning pink for the day to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support as we attempt to raise funds for a fantastic charity, close to many people’s hearts.
In the CMC Marquee, supporters will find a feast of additional treats with stalls from local Bedfordshire businesses, plus the wonderful singer Sophia Soul and MC Sam Roberts sharing the mic before and after the on-field action. Whilst pre-match all ladies can enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly, thanks to Eagle Brewery.
Confirmed stall holders to be in attendance on Saturday are; Crumbs Kitchen, Say Doughnuts, Rosehip Bespoke Floristry, Lorna Henderson Jewellery and ClemencylovesJude.
The customary shirt auction will take place from 6pm. This year will see the replacements jerseys up for grabs; while the Starting XV are available now via silent auction. Click here for details.
There will be a raffle, auction and bucket collection as usual, whilst all Eco Cup donations will also go to Macmillan. Help us beat last year’s record-breaking total.
Food and Drink
Gates open from midday, head to the ground early and sample everything we have to offer! Why not grab a programme and visit one of our bars.
Our choice would be the new Cabin Bar in the Mini Fan Village located in between the Coffee & Cake Horsebox and The Burger & Sausage Hut. Thank you to Dunster House, the Former Players Association and Eagle Brewery for supporting this latest bar.
Elsewhere, visit the Eagle Bar for this week’s guest ale, Wainwright’s Golden, or get your quickest pint from the reliable Scrum Bar, which also features the SwipeStation fast lane! If you are unfamiliar with the system which launched last season, more information is available here.
Additional catering outlets are available next to the Goldington Road entrance and Taylor’s Kitchen from the Scrum Hall serving hatch.
Blues Foundation Activation
The Foundation’s Community Guard of Honour, sponsored by Bellway Homes, returns with representatives from our Junior Blues Girls section. Make sure to give them a cheer as they step out onto the pitch to form the pre-match tunnel in the build-up to kick-off.
