‘No Woman No Try’ tours to Bedford

Posted: 13th October 2022

Bedford Blues are pleased to be hosting the final leg of the ‘No Woman No Try’ Official UK Tour, a thought-provoking documentary directed by Victoria Rush looking at the state of play of women’s rugby in the modern day.

Victoria and a select group of rugby panellists, revealed closer to the time, will be heading to Goldington Road on Friday 25th November for the final tour date.

Doors open on the night from 6:30pm before panel discussion, audio visual entertainment and interactive forums. Tickets are priced at £30 + booking fee and can be purchased from the official No Woman No Try website here.

At Goldington Road, we are incredibly proud of our thriving women and girls’ rugby section which has expanded exponentially in the past two years; and has overseen the creation of our first senior side which went on to win the NC3 Midlands (Central) Division in their debut campaign.

The expansion and progression of women’s rugby is one of the fastest growing within sport at this current time. No Woman No Try looks at women’s rugby through a new dimension in an honest yet confronting documentary.

Filmed through the 2020/21 season, No Woman No Try presents a portrait of the current status of gender, ethnicity and sexual equality issues through the lens of women’s rugby players and discussing progress with women’s sport pioneers and male allies. All of whom are championing change and inspiring a more diverse pool of role models for future generations.

The film is inspired by the global #IAmEnough movement, created in 2020. It explores gender disparity and how important female role models are to the next generation. All themes that transcend sport, finding relevance in today’s world.

Goldington Road will be the last stop on the tour which began last week in Cornwall, taking in locations such as London, Glasgow and Edinburgh before concluding at Bedford.

It’s set to be a fantastic evening; join us by purchasing your ticket here.
