Big Game Preview
Mike Rayer’s side return to The Richmond Athletic Ground under the Friday Night Lights looking for an immediate bounce back to winning ways following the disappointing defeat to Richmond last weekend.
With only the group winner guaranteed of a place in the knockout phase, Blues know there is little room for error as they begin the hunt for a first trophy since 2005, and will be keen to secure a fast start to proceedings away from home.
Bryan Redpath’s London Scottish are still searching for their first success for the campaign, but with their overall performances improving week on week, it’s only a matter of time before they bring home the points. Blues will have to be ready for another battle following the 85-point thriller between the sides earlier this campaign.
We’ve Met Before
An extremely historic fixture, with more than 90 years of drama and excitement, Bedford Blues and London Scottish will meet for the 82nd time under the Friday Night Lights.
They have always been competitive games, with neither side ever really holding too much ascendency in the fixture since a first meeting in March 1935.
However, Blues are starting to turn the screw a little bit recently and currently lead 40 wins to Scottish’s 38, while there have been a further three draws. Most notably, Director of Rugby, Mike Rayer celebrated his 500th game in charge of Bedford against Scottish back in April with a 62-21 away victory.
