MATCH FOCUS | Blues Women set for Goldington Road return
Bedford Blues Women will be looking to make a winning return to Goldington Road as they get set for their fourth fixture at the home of Bedford’s premier sporting club when taking on Milton Keynes this Sunday (KO 2pm).
After a barnstorming win last weekend, confidence is back flowing within Darryl Veenendaal and Peter Frost’s side as they return to Goldington Road, backed by a vociferous and loyal home support.
Big Game Preview
It’s 2nd v 4th at Goldington Road this Sunday with both sides making commanding starts to the season. The two teams have followed similar patterns in terms of results this season, so it’s set to be a tightly-contested, even yet thrilling contest on the weekend.

What follows this league clash?
It’s never too early to start thinking about the Festive season and the New Year, but Blues Women will have to contest a further two fixtures before they can rest and relax for the holiday festivities.
The final away trip of 2022 is next up when they make the long journey to Rugby Lionesses on Sunday 4th December.
Then to conclude the year it’s an historic Saturday fixture against another top four rivals, St Neots on Saturday 17th December. Full details will be announced on this fixture in the early part of next week with some exciting plans in the pipeline.
Opposition Analysis
A rival for the top-four places, Milton Keynes head to Goldington Road currently occupying 2nd place in the table after a strong start to the season, including victory over St Neots last time out.
They have scored the second most points in the division this season, and conceded the second least, defeating Buckingham Swans II 69-0, Royston 45-5, alongside a walkover win.
They have lost just once in the league so far, at home to champions elect, Peterborough Ladies.

The Scrum Bar and The Burrow at the Blues will both be open to grab a pre and post-match pint with all the usual favourites on offer!
Only the Apron Seats within The Eagle Stand will be in use on Sunday alongside pitch side standing room.
There are two further fixtures set to be held at Goldington Road throughout the season including an historic first ever Saturday game for the side (17th December v St Neots) as well as entertaining Rugby Lionesses in the New Year (Sunday 12th March 2023).
