Blues bolster ranks with Kieran Curran signing

Posted: 22nd December 2022

Bedford Blues are pleased to announce further competition in their back row options with the addition of former Wasps forward Kieran Curran on a short-term contract until the end of the 2022/23 Championship season.

The 22-year-old – who joined up with his new teammates earlier this week – goes straight into contention for the matchday squad and is available to make his debut on Boxing Day if selected.

He joined Wasps’ senior academy in 2019/20 and has been on multiple loan spells in the seasons which have followed, as well as being involved in the Wasps first team for eight appearances including a Premiership debut in 2020 and an inaugural berth in the Champions Cup a year later.

Curran has some Championship experience already, having spent short stints at Hartpury and Nottingham pre-COVID pandemic. He has also spent time with Loughborough Students and more recently earlier this season at Rotherham Titans.

He featured in Wasps’ final game against Northampton Saints back in October and we are delighted to welcome Curran on board to join our #BluesFamily at Goldington Road.

Director of Rugby, Mike Rayer said “We’ve been looking to strengthen the back five in the forwards for a while now and been waiting for the right person to fill that space. Kieran is quick and powerful, and we are confident he will add a new dimension to compliment our brand of rugby”
