MATCH FOCUS | Final away game of 2022 for Blues Women
![]()
Bedford Blues Women will be looking for a strong showing in what is their final away trip of 2022 as they head to Rugby Lionesses in a real battle for the top four places (KO 2pm).
Darryl Veenendaal and Peter Frost’s side will be looking to return to winning ways and maintain strong league position in what is the fixture that brings up the halfway point in the season.
Big Game Preview
The next two fixtures, which conclude 2022, will go a long way towards suggesting where in the table Bedford Blues Women might be able to finish come the end of the season.
Just like the men’s team yesterday, they face a 4th v 5th battle this afternoon against Rugby Lionesses who only sit behind them by virtue of points difference, before facing 3rd place to round off the calendar year.
The two sides have followed pretty similar patterns this term so it’s set to be a cracker in Warwickshire and the team could really do with your support for the longest trip of the campaign!

Opposition Analysis
A rival for the top-four places, Rugby Lionesses are in imperious form having initially suffered back-to-back league defeats (v Peterborough & St Neots) to start the 2022/23 NC2 Midlands (Central) Division campaign.
They have won pretty much every game since then across league and cup, securing a strong victory over Biggleswade to kickstart a run which has seen them rise to fifth in the table and with a genuine vision towards the top three places.
Ominously, they are still in the Women’s Junior Cup and edged out Milton Keynes Women last weekend in a 12-5 home victory.
