OBITUARY | Dr Bob Main
![]()
It is with deep regret that the club must share the sad news that former Club Doctor and Honorary Life Member, Dr Bob Main sadly passed away on Friday 16th December at the age of 85.
A prominent figure in the town, regularly attending home matches at Goldington Road, Bob was one half of the Fraser Main doctors practice on Union Street, formed alongside Dr Campbell Fraser who was also a former club doctor and Honorary Life Member of Bedford Blues.
Bob – who can be seen in the back row, first from the left in the photo below – joined as club doctor in 1975 and held the position for 20 years. The outpouring of tributes from members of our Former Players Association who were at the club during this period show great testament to how highly he was regarded.
The thoughts of everyone associated with Bedford Blues are with his wife Jill, daughters Kirsty and Julie, as well as his wider family and friends at this time.
Our club flag will be flown at half-mast on Boxing Day in Bob’s memory.
