TEAM NEWS | Two changes for Scottish clash

Mike Rayer has named his squad as Bedford Blues look to begin 2023 on a strong footing when they make their final trip to the capital this season to face London Scottish tomorrow (KO 3pm).

A fixture with 90 years’ worth of history, neither side has ever really held a long-standing ascendency against the other with Blues currently holding a slender advantage, but fully aware of the challenge that awaits them after defeat at the RAG in the Championship Cup back in November.

This is the third encounter between the two sides this season, with 128 points already scored, so it’s set to be another classic with both sides desperate for vital league points.

Ahead of the game, Rayer has been forced into making two changes to the side which secured victory in-front of a sell-out Goldington Road crowd on Boxing Day.

Both alterations come in the forwards pack as Osman Dimen misses out having withdrawn injured during the first half on Boxing Day, while Karl Wilkins has returned to Northampton Saints.

Saints duo Ehren Painter and Tom Lockett are named in the Starting XV, with Luke Frost – who again prepares to face his former side – switching to the back row to accommodate the inclusions.

Alongside Dimen, Alex Woolford and Jacob Fields are the other injury absentees this weekend.
