MATCH FOCUS | Blues Women set for Buckingham trip
Bedford Blues Women will be looking to maintain their perfect start to 2023 when they make a first ever trip across to Buckingham Swans Ladies II this Sunday (KO 2pm).
After a four-week break from competitive action due to fixture postponements, Darryl Veenendaal and Peter Frost’s side will be eager to get going again as they look to end the campaign on as strong a footing as possible with just five fixtures left to go.
Big Game Preview
After a gritty victory over a combined Biggleswade and Royston side last month, Blues Women will be looking for maximum points when they head back out on the road this Sunday.
They will be desperate to be occupying a healthy strategic position ahead of the season run-in, which sees them square off against all the other strong teams in the division, so the importance of victory this Sunday cannot be stressed to aid the ambitions of finishing inside the Top Four.
Team News
Due to the merger of Biggleswade and Royston, therefore cancelling the fixture against the latter, the hope is that a break of four weeks between matches will allow more players to return from injury and be available for selection this time around.

What follows this league clash?
It’s set to be an exciting end to the season with the final four remaining fixtures coming against all the other sides battling it out for the Top Four places.
Two testing away trips against Milton Keynes (26th February) and Peterborough (2nd April) come either side of the final two home fixtures, both of which are to take place at Goldington Road.
They host Rugby Lionesses on Sunday 12th March before the historic first ever Saturday fixture for the side on 25th March when St Neots head to town. Buy tickets for both games here.
Opposition Analysis
It hasn’t been the easiest of campaigns for Buckingham Swans Ladies II who have found things difficult this season in what is only their second year of running two teams.
They have scored just five points all season, although that did come in their last outing, and have been forced to forfeit two fixtures this season due to availability issues. They last took to the field on 20th November so will be looking to blow off the cobwebs this Sunday.
