The two sides have already contested two intriguing contests up at Castle Park this season, and meet again tomorrow for the first of two encounters at Goldington Road in the space of just 13 days.

Matches between Bedford and Doncaster have been plentiful in recent times, and they are usually high scoring affairs to keep the crowds entertained. This season has continued that trend with more high quality rugby and 59 points averaged.

As the next chapter of history prepares to be written, Rayer has elected to shuffle his pack quite significantly to continue the theme of getting minutes into the legs of all members of the Blues squad, particularly with a free weekend coming up before the return to league action.

There are 11 changes in total as Robin Williams and Charles Rylands remain in the forwards pack, while backs duo Matt Worley and Seàn French both change positions but retain spots in the Starting XV.

George Hendy makes a welcome return to action after missing the last month through injury as part of those coming back into the side, with Blues looking to conclude the cup campaign on as strong a footing as possible to take momentum into upcoming league fixtures.

The forwards trio of Jacob Fields, Osman Dimen and Alex Woolford are continuing their rehabilitation but remain the only longer-term absentees.

Bedford Blues Starting XV:

15. George Hendy, 14. Matt Worley, 13. Tom Litchfield, 12. Michael Le Bourgeois, 11. Seàn French, 10. Will Maisey, 9. Alex Day (C); 1. Joey Conway, 2. Jack Hughes, 3. Ehren Painter, 4. Robin Williams, 5. Tom Lockett, 6. Jac Arthur, 7. Charles Rylands, 8. Tui Uru
