Double Beds Cup success for Junior Blues
There was a reason to smile over the weekend as we had double success for Bedford Junior Blues with both U14s and U16s coming out on top in their Bedfordshire Cup Finals.
U14s – Leighton Buzzard 5 – 17 Bedford Junior Blues
A seemingly attritional game amid testing conditions at the home of Leighton Buzzard, Wright’s Meadow, but it was Bedford who found a way to win with a big performance on the road.
Congratulations to try scorers Adam, Jordan and Dylan while Alex added a conversion.
U16s – Ampthill 3 – 20 Bedford Junior Blues
Both cup victories came on the road last Sunday and this one was also contested on the Ampthill first-team pitch, which Mike Rayer’s side will have to step out onto in just four weeks.
And the senior first-team will be looking to replicate the sort of performance shown by the U16s after they cruised to victory to take the spoils thanks to a superb showing.
