A fifteen point gap to Cornish Pirates in 5th has now opened up after 17 pulsating rounds of second-tier action, but with five extremely difficult fixtures left this season it only means one thing for definite – Blues will not be resting on their laurels despite the large advantage.
Mike Rayer’s side will travel up the A1 with a huge amount of confidence, however, following six league wins in their last seven outings. Only one point separated the sides at Goldington Road earlier this campaign, and it’s set to be another close encounter again on Sunday.
Craig Hammond’s Nottingham have had an indifferent season so far, winning once in their last six matches. But they have many individuals who can cause a lot of problems to opposition and will be looking to return to winning ways in-front of their home support.

A real, traditional rugby fixture between two historic sides; Bedford Blues and Nottingham have squared off against each other on 109 competitive occasions. Throughout history Bedford have dominated, excluding Nottingham’s 1980s heyday, Blues have registered 74 wins to Nottingham’s 32 alongside two draws.
Blues hold somewhat of a psychological advantage ahead of Sunday’s encounter, having won all five most recent meetings including the two visits at Lady Bay last season – 47-22 in the Championship and 38-14 in cup competition.
