TEAM NEWS | Four changes for Ealing challenge

Mike Rayer has named his squad as Bedford Blues prepare for one of the toughest challenges of the campaign when reigning champions and current league leaders, Ealing head to town on Saturday (KO 3pm).

Without question the sternest test of Bedford’s impressive home record so far this season, Rayer’s side will be desperate to return to winning ways and hope to be backed on the day by a packed and vociferous support through the Goldington Road turnstiles.

It’s always an entertaining clash when the two sides collide, with an average of over fifty points and a win apiece in the past twelve months, and both need the points to keep their ambitions alive come the end of the season.

Rayer has been boosted by being able to call upon former captain, Rich Lane who re-joined the club earlier in the week on loan from Bristol Bears. The full-back comes straight into the side as one of four changes to the Starting XV which faced Nottingham last time out.

Louis Grimoldby and Ethan Grayson are also named from the off as part of an exciting back-line.

The final alteration, and solitary one in the forwards pack, sees a return for Kieran Curran who missed out through illness last weekend.

Player coach Michael Le Bourgeois has recovered enough from his rib injury to be named among the replacements.

Jacob Fields, Alex Woolford, Jordan Onojaife, Jac Arthur and Matt Worley remain unavailable.
