TEAM NEWS | Four changes for season finale
Mike Rayer has named his squad as Bedford Blues look to finish the 2022/23 campaign on the strongest possible footing when they welcome Coventry to Goldington Road tomorrow (KO 3pm).
After three entertaining matches between the two clubs already this season, including an average of just shy of 51 points per fixture in that time, there isn’t too much to learn about the other ahead of 3rd v 4th at Goldington Road.
With members of the squad recalled by Northampton Saints ahead of their East Midlands derby this weekend, Rayer make four changes to the side which secured an away victory at Ampthill last time out.
That sees just one change in the backs division. After an impressive cameo against his former side, Louis Grimoldby comes in amid a jersey re-shuffle which sees him share the 10-12 axle with Will Maisey for the first time this season.
Within the forwards pack, there are a further three changes including welcome first starts since returning from injury for Alex Woolford and Osman Dimen who begin a game for the first time since October and December respectively.
Completing the alterations is Kayde Sylvester who will start at openside to allow Luke Frost to revert to his more familiar blindside position.
Blues go with a six-two split on the bench to bring the curtain down on another successful campaign.
Rich Lane surpasses the 100-appearance barrier and will lead the side onto the field tomorrow.
