After two tough outings in recent weeks against the title contenders, Blues will be looking to finish the season in positive fashion over the next two weekends, but will be fully aware of the challenge that lies in wait against an Ampthill side who have been much improved since Christmas.
There’s not too much for either side to learn about the other with this the 14th meeting across a five-year period in competitive and friendly action, with both teams having their moments in this fixture over that time.
For the first time this season, Rayer elects to stick with the same Starting XV that battled bravely against Jersey in-front of the Championship live stream last weekend.
In fact, there is only one alteration in the entire matchday squad as Jordan Onojaife returns with a spot among the replacements bench.
The quintet of Jacob Fields, Jac Arthur, Kieran Curran, Jamie Elliott and Matt Worley make up the injury list.
Bedford Blues Starting XV:
15. Rich Lane, 14. Sean French, 13. Ethan Grayson, 12. Michael Le Bourgeois, 11. Dean Adamson, 10. Will Maisey, 9. Alex Day (C); 1. Joey Conway, 2. James Fish, 3. Corrie Barrett, 4. Robin Williams, 5. Tom Lockett, 6. Emeka Atuanya, 7. Luke Frost, 8. Tui Uru
Bedford Blues Replacements:
16. Jack Hughes, 17. Monty Royston, 18. Osman Dimen, 19. Alex Woolford, 20. Jordan Onojaife, 21. Jake Garside, 22. Louis Grimoldby, 23. George Hendy
