Luke Frost remains for 2023/24

Fresh from winning the Followers Player of the Year at last week’s End of Season Gala Dinner, Luke Frost has re-committed his future to Bedford Blues by becoming the second member of the forwards pack to be announced for the 2023/24 Championship season.
An ever present in the team last season after recovering from concussion suffered in the final pre-season friendly, Frost became one of the first names on the team sheet and played more minutes than anyone else across the campaign.
That followed an impressive inaugural season at Goldington Road back in 2021/22 with Frost currently on 45 appearances, adding tries to his game in more recent times with six in total now including crucial scores in closely fought contests.
On retaining Frost as part of the squad next season, Director of Rugby, Mike Rayer commented: “Luke's consistency is remarkable and we are grateful to have him among the squad again.
"His work around the line out is excellent, however the work rate and energy he brings is his greatest quality. He knows his game well and there is scope for him to reach his peak."
Now a shoo-in to hit the 50-appearance milestone next season, Frost may have already reached those heights had it not been for a short loan spell at Northampton Saints in 21/22 where he benefitted from time in a Premiership environment.
One of the most consistent forwards in the Championship over many seasons, following prior stints at Nottingham and London Scottish, Frost has proven his versatility by wearing both second row and flanker jerseys, becoming a key linchpin for the side particularly at times with high unavailability in his position.
On his decision to remain part of the #BluesFamily in 23/24, Frost added: “The last two seasons at Goldington Road have been brilliant. You hear great things about Bedford when you’re in and around the Championship, and it has lived up to everyone’s description. It’s everything that playing in the Championship should be.
“A huge credit must go to Mike for making sure that we continue to play positive, attacking rugby and most importantly, enjoy our rugby along the way.
“I was very proud to receive the Followers Player of the Year last week and delighted to confirm this news off the back of that. The award means a lot to me and is probably my biggest rugby achievement to date. To receive that from a supporter base as ardent and passionate as here at Bedford is a huge honour.”
Thanks to Epic Intent for their continued support and sponsorship of Frosty.
